Rueter-Hess Recreation

April 23, 2024 –  Seasonal Recreation Update

Rueter-Hess Reservoir will be opening to water recreation beginning on Friday April 26, 2024!

All watercraft will be subject to ANS inspections and should be clean and dry.

Reservations are required – click here to reserve your spot!

Rules and regulations for fishing include:

 

Nestled in the sandstone-rimmed bluffs and Gamble Oak valleys of northeastern Douglas County, Rueter-Hess Reservoir beckons history buffs, day hikers, dog walkers, water-sport enthusiasts, and local anthropologists alike. 

With that in mind, we recommend booking in advance and signing up for email updates.

Summer/Fall hours – open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. 

Late fall/Winter hours –  8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

    Parking day passes are required. Click here to make your reservation.  

Incline Hours:
One hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset, seven days a week
No reservations are required.

Recreation activities at Rueter-Hess Reservoir are managed by the Rueter-Hess Recreation Authority, a six-member regional collaboration charged with planning recreation activities at the reservoir.  Click here for more information.
